The Cheetah Guy

The goal today was to get tickets to a show for this evening and get the laundry done. There are two booths called TKTS where you can get discounted tickets. The one in Times Square is in the Marriott and then there is another one, less busy, in Seaport. Okay... so we were going to go there when they opened at 2. Except at 11:30 Quint realized that the Seaport booth opens at 11. So we hurried (a relative term with subways in NYC) on down. We were successful in buying two tickets to "Moon for the Misbegotten." Orchestra Row K seats 20 and 22. Only $110 total. Not bad. And there is a Talbots around the corner! While I looked.. Quint and Jennifer walked around to look at the boats. She came into the dressing room a bit later and was very excited.

You may have heard of the Cheetah Girls? She found a Cheetah Guy and was so excited to show him to me. Turns out he is a Yoga Master. In my day we would have called him a contortionist. Jennifer had a ball. To various Michael Jackson tunes, he'd twist into various positions. He put himself into a 16" cylinder and the finale was a lucite box about 20" x 20". Jennifer was giddy. She thought it was hilarious.

This evening, Jennifer was excited to be babysat by one of the students. She dragged Allison to the park and then they watched two videos. We went to the play and then stayed after the show to say hello to Kevin Spacey. I tried not to look like a stalker. I said, "Kevin I went to school with you... back in the S192 days. (The drama room number.) That got his attention and he looked up. I told him I was "Barlow," my nick-name since there two Leslies. He said "Leslie Barlow?" He looked stunned. Probably because I'm not in a wheelchair. It's been 30 years. I never thought I'd ever be old enough to say I knew someone 30 years ago.... 1977. I'm glad I can still remember that far back... if only I could always remember where I put the keys.
